Ok, this has been really irritating. People, mostly just the Christians, are looking like complete idiots on social media. Why? Because if a movie coming out called “Noah”.
If you haven’t seen the trailer, then I advise you to watch it just so you know what’s going on.
A lot of Christians are freaking out and posting all over Facebook and other places about how Christians shouldn’t be fooled by the movie. And that it won’t be Biblically correct and that it will give the wrong message and will have hidden messages in it.
Uhm… Really? You can’t be serious.
First let’s go over the basics, it’s a movie. And what is a movie? Entertainment. I’m sure most of the movies Christians have watched are not Biblically correct, but they watch it for the *ahem* entertainment. You’re going to throw out one movie just because it is an original Bible story that they changed up and is now not Biblically correct and doesn’t tell it the way it happened? Well then, you probably don’t watch any movie that was originally first a book. (Besides, we all know the book is better than the movie. And I’m talking about any book.)
Second. It is Hollywood, people. What did you really expect?!? Did you expect Hollywood to just have a change of heart and want to make a movie that uplifts God and how He used Noah to cleanse the world?? Really? I’m surprised you are surprised it’s not what you thought it would be.
Let’s go over one more thing. Facts and Fiction. I do not believe this way but most people in Hollywood do, they see the Bible as just fiction and stories. Instead of trying to come up with new original ideas they take old stories and remake them. So just like they do with… King Arthur or Robin Hood, they retell the story how they want. Entertainment, again. How do you think the Grimm Brothers felt? All of their original stories have been twisted and are not faithful to the original text. That is what Hollywood does. Even authors write books and take away from the original story. You shouldn’t expect anything more from Hollywood. Now the facts part. The Bible tells the story of Noah and the Ark but doesn’t give every detail that is needed for a movie. For example, we don’t really know what Noah’s wife or his sons and their wives were like and how they thought. All of that character development would have to be fabricated for any movie.
So, fellow Christians stop posting and saying “don’t see this movie, its not Biblically correct.” WE KNOW. It’s kinda obvious. Please, do not think I am supporting the movie in any way. I am not arguing for or against the movie, am simply stating that Christians are going overboard with this movie and the way Hollywood made it
